Resumen
Traditionally Colombia has sustained a close business relationship with the European Union, being one of the main export destinations of non-traditional Colombian products. In order to strength trade dynamics the European Union and Colombia signed a trade agreement to promote economic growth. This doment is focused primarily on Colombia´s trade relationship with Denmark, Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia and Croatia. Although Colombian exports to these European countries are emerging, there is evidence of export opportunities through the benefits provided by the trade agreement. Colombia is in a trade openness transition process and the trade agreement between the European Union and Colombia ratifies Colombia´s commitment to ensure economic growth driven by foreign trade.
