Resumen
Supply Chain Management is becoming more and more valuable for the success of today’s business world. The importance of efficient logistics for trade and growth is now widely acknowledged. Analysis of supply chain indicators such as the LPI have shown that better logistics performance is strongly associated with trade expansion, export diversification, ability to attract foreign direct investments, and economic growth.
The use of logistics and production is an evolving concept with individual countries at very different stages in their adoption of the concept. First world countries have had the opportunity to implement supply chain management to many of their businesses due to the resources that these countries have for research development and innovating processes. Colombia has realized how fundamental supply chain management is, for years it was not the particular focus for growth, but with globalization and the ease to compare other industrial systems with our own, it has proved how efficient this theory is for our development.
