Abstract
Absenteeism is acostlyphenomenon. When workers do not attend due to occupational
illness or accidents, the impact suffered by the company is the economic and/or
operational.
Objective: To characterize the factors of absenteeism in the medical center level I and
their behavior during the year 2010.
Methods: Across-sectional descriptive study, 118 workers of medical center I level
Bogotá during the year 2010. Inclusion criteria: men and women, with direct contract,
medical disabilities. Exclusion criteria: personal with indirect recruitment, outsourcing
and maternity calamities. Information extracted from in capacity database.
Results: There were 332incapacities that represented 1518 lost days caused by
generaldisease99.7%, respiratory, digestive and musculoskeletal l with a greater
number of incapacities (31.9%, 22.9% and 13% respectively). The largest
absenteeism in doctors 38.3%,14.2%dentalassistantsand dentists10.8%.The assistive
areahas78.3%of incapacities, indefinite termcontractswith74.6%disability and women
with 78, 01%.
Conclusions: The mayor cause of absenteeism is general disease, respiratory system
is most affected followed by digestive and musculoskeletal, the permanent workers,
female gender, the assistive area and by charge the general doctors, followed by
dental assistants and dentists. However in the evidenced results must becon side red
the general population and its distribution for variables such as gender, area, charges,
so statistical analysis is further required to establish whether there is significant
difference.
