21-32 gicarrillot@uaemex.mx esmoraless@uaemex.mx Semestral This text makes part of a more extensive work
that we developed in the university we work, and
that we named: Analysis of social change in the
Caribbean (Great Antilles) through the literature
production. We have studied historical facts,
social and cultural aspects, but also political and
religious phenomena occurred in the Caribbean
because we are convinced that those facts had
effects in the past and in the present had also
effects in the rest of the continent. The region has
a relevant importance if we take in consideration
that it was the entrance door of western culture in
the American Continent, but also if we consider that this culture is characterised by its inclination for the constant process of social changes. This fact came to trouble, in a radical way, the way of live of natives American peoples because they used to maintain a way of life linked to ancient traditions and they used to be enemies of constant changes.
