Também será incorporada uma breve análise da Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios (PNAD-IBGE), com dados referentes aos trabalhadores em atividades de apoio técnico às artes e espetáculos Abstract: The objective of this doctorate thesis is to study the working conditions and work experience of the technical professionals associated with the Municipal Theater of São Paulo. More specifically, we examine the transformations that occur in organization and management vis-à-vis the performance arts. Thus, we will attempt to assess whether training is necessary for these professions as well as the conditions in which the work is done and the role played by the established remuneration. These workers are part of the technical support teams which works intimately with the core performers (musicians and ballet dancers) to bring about the artistic performances of the Municipal Theater. These teams consist of lighting, sound, stage and mechanical technicians as well as stage managers and costume professionals. Our study is based on a qualitative research, privileging open and in depth interviews and field observations. A short analysis of the National Research by Sample of Residences (PNAD-IBGE) will also be included, with facts regarding the activities of technical support crews for the performance arts Doutorado Educação, Sociedade, Politica e Cultura Doutor em Educação
