Resumen
The objective of this study was to characterize bacterial strains of The Yellow Lagoon of the Volcano Altar. Five samples of water collected at different points were processed during a dry and rainy season; samples were inoculated by the surface sowing technique in culture media TSA, TSB, PCA y LB, and incubated at temperatures of 4°C, 10°C, 20°C y 37°C to determine the optimal temperature of growth and later to carry out the isolation of the strains which present psychotropic and psychrophilic characteristics, then traditional biochemical tests were performed and also physiological tests, hydrolysis of starch, casein and gelatine for their identification, to check the ability of these microorganisms to survive hostile environmental changes each of the strains was subjected to concentrations of heavy metals, chloride of sodium to antibiotics of common use, finally nineteen pure isolates identified by microscopy were obtained as Gram-negative basils and Grampositive cocci, resistance tests showed that the bacteria found may have physiological daptations that allow bacteria to adapt and survive in uncommon environments because they use what would be considered contaminants and metabolize them for their survival, the capabilities presented by the bacteria of this zone could be used in the industrial sector, however, it is recommended to carry out a study using current bioprospecting techniques to obtain a more accurate result .
