Resumen
The present investigation deals with the Design and Implementation of a Pilot Biodigester for the production of biogas in one of the houses of the Santa Lucía de Tembo Community belonging to the San Isidro de Patúlu Parish of the Guano Canton. Our research-experimental study consisted of: exhaustively reviewing several works carried out in similar environmental conditions, randomly selecting seven heads of cattle whose excreta were used to determine the daily load and physical-chemical characterizations, collecting meteorological data that allow us to calculate the retention time. With all these parameters, a tubular biodigester was designed and placed in a thermal insulation trench located 8.3 and 1.2 m away from the house and the barn, respectively. During the 46 days of monitoring, temperature, pressure, pH, in the biogas production process were controlled, including odor and flame color tests. Under the following conditions: daily load 58.3Kg/day, average annual temperature 13.5°C, retention time 39 days, water:manure dilution 1:1; a biodigester was designed with the following dimensions: length 4.7m, diameter 1.27m, total volume 6.03 m3. The thermal insulation allowed to increase the internal temperature 3-5°C on cold days and 15-20°C on sunny days. We conclude that the daily production of biogas on warm days is 1.5m3 which provides 1.68 hours of flame burning, boiling a pot with 40 liters of water in 48 minutes. We recommend the user to make constant use of the biogas produced to help spread this type of environmentally friendly energy technologies.
