An Electronic Device Calculator of Distanceand Fares for Taxis Implementedin a Proo fBench for the Escuela de Ingeniería Automotriz has been designed and builtto demostrate theright performance of a taxi meterby applying the faresestabli shed to in crease the know ledge level in thestudents of the Escuela de Ingeniería Automotriz, ESPOCH, and be competitive in themarket. Byusing informatics tools for the programming of the PIC (Periphery Interface Control) such as Microcode Studio, simulation of the circuit in Isis of Proteus, the central electronic module iselaborated, printing of thecircuit in bakelite and components assembling bymeasuring and calculatingthecostto be paidaccordingtothedistance and time throughthe digital signal of thespeed sensor of thevehicle. A programmingcapable of showing in the LCD(Display of LiquidCrystal)allthe data to be measuredwasobtained, easy to understand, and ifnecessary, tochangeorput up-to-date the performance parameters of the module in the PIC programming, theassembly and dismountis simple beingusefulforthelearning of thestudents and competitive in themarket. The device construction requiered a multidisciplinary know ledgenecessary in thedevelopment of thestudents ́ skills in differentareassuch as mechanics, physics, algebra, programming, electronics, amongothers, to use theproofbench in anoptimumway. I recommendtoemployperiodicallythis new tooltocheckitsright performance, and aftewards, that new ideas be implementedtocontributetothetechnologicaldevelopment of the country bypromotingsuch a device.
