Resumen
Swine Production Unit, Faculty of Animal Science of the ESPOCH, located in the canton Riobamba, Chimborazo province, assessed the effect of flavoring Luctarom Pigrow applied in the diet of pigs and fattening stages of growth was compared to the same treatment versus control, using a simple experiment, evaluating different production variables for 120 days of investigation. Statistical differences were determined (P <0.01), reaching a higher feed intake in pigs treated with Landrace- York flavoring in the diet during growth and fattening stages of consumption reaching an average of 74.80 and 144.7 kg for each of the stages respectively, also obtained the highest final weight and weight gain during the growing season with averages of 44.40 and 29.30 kg in order, so the better feed conversion and cost / kg weight gain values of 2.56 and 1.08 USD respectively, while during the growing stage is reached the best average production in terms of final weight and weight gain with values of 96.70 and 52.30 kg finally the best FCR at a rate of 2.77, consequently the highest rate of Benefit - Cost 1.14 USD, so it is recommended to use flavorings in the diets of pigs for growth and fattening stages, allowing better food consumption by animals and consequently higher production and economic returns, especially when using raw materials not conventional low palatabilit and of the feed formulation.
